Design Your Own Wedding Dress

Usually, Brides-to-Be who contact us, include their ideas for customising their gown, as there may be specific elements which aren't shown as options on the app– it doesn't mean we can't do them, just that they're probably what makes your design totally unique to you. There are also more styles available, different overlays in lace or sheer gathered chiffon, not shown on the app due to space constraints, but you can try them on when you visit. Just send us the closest design you can create with the app, along with a description or pics of the tweaks and additions you'd ideally like to make, and we'll try and accommodate whatever your dream may be. It's a good idea to include your ideal budget in your email, as we always aim to suggest options that fit with this. Do send us your Pinterest board or any images of features that you'd like to incorporate in your design.

The back of the dress is so important… low backs, lace-covered styles, keyhole designs….all gorgeous. One of the up-coming developments for the app will allow you to rotate the mannequin so you can see how the back would look, and customise or change it as you wish. In the meantime, when you send your enquiry, do put a note, or pics to explain your ideal for the back of your dress, and we can explore how best to incorporate this into your design.

All fastenings are zips, with an internal corset, which are included in the price quoted, with the option to order buttons or lacing separately. Sometimes there are limitations regarding the engineering of your design that might affect the options for the back of your wedding dress, but we can show you these in person when you come and try on some samples. The concept was dreamt up by British couture wedding dress designer Caroline Arthur, and enables you to create your own bespoke Designer Gown, which will fit you perfectly.

All can be made as a dress or separates, in your choice of colour, silk, satin or crepe, with or without a lace or sheer over-layer. There are some stunning accessories, including sparkle and crystal beaded appliqué, or you could design your own. Feel free to contact us with your ideas. We're based in London, Surrey and Hampshire, with flexible appointments for you to come and see us.

Once you've discovered your perfect wedding dress design using the app, click on the "Email the design team for a quote" to send it to us. We'll reply with all the details you need to decide if you'd like to make an appointment to come and try on some samples and look at fabric options – this is where the fun really starts! Bring whoever you like to your appointment, you're welcome to take photos, and by trying on the samples as separate tops and skirts (which we have in a vast range of sizes, so everyone welcome)… you can explore different combinations of bodice / strap / sleeve / skirt styles until you find the perfect and most flattering design for you. Together, we'll draw up a sketch for you to take with you, and following this appointment, we'll send you a booking form with details of how to book and how fittings work. We request a deposit to secure the booking for your gown, and which we use to purchase your fabric, and the remainder is to be settled on collection of the dress, when you are 100% happy. There are usually around 3 appointments required to make your dress. The first is for measuring, when we use a calico "toile" to ensure the fit is perfect and measurements correct. Before your design is made in your choice of fabric, your individual dress pattern is then adjusted to reflect your measurements. We're passionate about achieving a perfect fit for every bride, and have developed an innovative "Bespoke Pattern System", which means you get a made-to-measure fit on your gown, whatever your size or shape, and removing the likelihood of alterations being needed. The second appointment is when you try on your real gown, and our dressmaker is present to ensure the fit and length is perfect. In the event that you experience weight change in the run up to the wedding (intentionally or not), you do have the option for our dressmaker to adjust the dress to fit you beautifully, and you can discuss with her directly at your fitting. Or if you prefer, you can take your dress to your own dressmaker for these adjustments – the choice is yours. If no further adjustments are needed, your third appointment will be for you to collect your finished gown.
